Shield Engineering is excited to welcome our newest employee, Sam Stephens!
Sam is a Senior Project Manager with an extensive background in Special Inspections in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and the surrounding municipalities, including areas of South Carolina. Sam was previously a Special Inspections Department Manager and, as such, is strong in project management and client relations.
His previous projects have included testing and inspections work on the Charlotte Douglas terminal expansions, multiple large multi-family apartment buildings in and around Charlotte, a large school project in South Carolina, light commercial projects, and residential work ranging from foundation evaluations to framing inspections and warranty work.
Sam also has experience in the geotechnical engineering field with deep foundations, soil stabilization, and evaluation of DCP and SPT data.
Originally from Newport News, Virginia, Sam holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a registered Engineering Intern and an AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
Sam is also an accomplished rock climber, an avid outdoorsman, golfer (albeit not a great one), and a competitive marksman.
