Shield was contracted by a major East Coast transportation company to evaluate 44 individual trucking facilities in 13 western states in 45 days as part of a major corporate expansion. Shield completed a preliminary environmental risk evaluation and provided recommendations for further assessment on high-risk sites. The high-risk sites were physically inspected and individual assessment reports were prepared. Sites were located in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Idaho.
Shield was asked to provide environmental site assessment services for a former veneer manufacturing facility heavily damaged by fire. Subsequent to the fire damage, the site became an unofficial dumping site for various materials, including drums, transformers and other debris. Shield, working in conjunction with a potential purchaser's legal counsel, evaluated the facility, including materials used in manufacturing as well as possible contaminant sources from drums, transformers, chemical containers and miscellaneous household debris.
