Shield provides a full range of services including evaluations to support site selection; hydrogeologic assessment and remediation; design; permitting; construction specifications and drawings; construction monitoring and quality assurance; and operation, closure, and post-closure monitoring.
Shield works closely with clients to realize the ultimate goal of any facility permitting project - the receipt of the necessary permit. Our designs are prepared to satisfy regulatory requirements and owner/operator preferences. In addition to the design of new facilities, Shield also develops innovative approaches to increase available air space, to extend operating life, and to address such operating concerns as internal slope stability, leachate collection, and overlay liner systems. Shield has prepared and received approvals for waste facility designs reviewed by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. We maintain open, productive relationships with regulatory agencies to facilitate communication and streamline the permitting process.
