Shield Engineering began in the late 1980s as a predominantly petroleum based environmental consulting firm. Shield expanded and grew its environmental practice and, in 2000, acquired Geo-Environmental Consultants, a geotechnical engineering firm. This acquisition doubled the size of both firms and provided the platform for service line expansion and geographic growth.
